A woman has been arrested after crashing her Mercedes while more than three times over the drink drive limit.
Police rushed to Shedfield near Wickham in the early hours of this morning to find a white Mercedes with severe front end damage.
Officers carried out a roadside breath test, with the woman blowing a reading of 115 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, more than three times the legal limit of 35.
However, despite the reading, the woman reportedly 'reliably informed' officers the alcohol in her system had nothing to do with the collision.
The Chronicle has asked police for further information on the incident.
We were reliably informed by the driver of this Mercedes in #Shedfield that the alcohol in her system had absolutely nothing to do with the collision she was involved in. We're no detectives 🕵️♂️ but 3x the limit may have been a factor 🤨 #ItsNotWorthTheRisk
