A woman has been arrested for reportedly stealing alcohol and racially abusing a security guard at an Asda superstore in Chandler's Ford.
Police were called to the supermarket in Bournemouth Road just before 3.15pm yesterday afternoon (March 29) after it was alleged the woman had tried to make off with a number of bottles of alcohol without paying.
She was arrested and searched by officers and a de-tagging device was located and seized. While under arrest, she is then said to have racially abused a store security guard before assaulting a police officer.
The 40-year-old from Southampton was further arrested for going equipped for theft, racially aggravated public order and assaulting an emergency worker.
She remains in custody at this time.
