TWO road accidents north of Winchester have left three people in need of medical attention today (December 27).
One motorist suffered head, neck and arm injuries following a crash on the A34 near South Wonston.
The accident occurred on the southbound carriageway shortly before 9am.
It was the second crash on the section between Three Maids Hill and Sutton Scotney within five days.
On Sunday (December 23) a Southampton man suffered minor head injuries after his Peugeot flipped onto its side on the northbound carriageway.
The driver in the more recent crash was taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
An ambulance service spokeswoman said the motorist's condition was serious, but not life threatening.
Delays were reported on the A34 until shortly after 10am, when the traffic started to return to normal.
However, a second crash occurred at 10.30am in Andover Road North, the main road leading from Winchester to the A34.
It involved two cars and took place on a single carriageway section between the Harestock Road and Stoney Lane junctions.
One man was left with serious but not life threatening chest injuries, while a woman was treated for shock at the scene, an ambulance service spokeswoman said.
The Hampshire air ambulance flew to both crash scenes as a precaution, but was not used.
