A CHURCH has raised £800 for repairs with its summer fete.

The Holy Trinity Church in Upper Brook Street welcomed people to the church, with visitors including the mayor and mayoress, Cllr Frank Pearson and his wife Anne.

A number of stalls lined the church hall, while there were various activities in the grounds.

Resident Mike Gillott also brought along his 1937 vintage Triumph Vitesse, pictured, which was admired by those who came along.

The fete was supported by estate agent Dybles.

Organiser Bridget Kimber said: “We had an exhibition of calligraphy and art in the church and our very talented calligrapher Marcia Collins from the Cathedral came and showed us the art of calligraphy.

“A good day was had by all and we raised lots of cash for our church repairs.”

The church will next be holding a Christmas Bazaar on November 24.
