NEIGHBOURS have complained about noisy cockerels on land vacated by the owner.
Robert Memory had been living without planning permission on a plot at Alresford Drove, South Wonston, but has now moved on.
A city council spokesman said: “We take complaints of noise nuisance and animal welfare very seriously and is investigating this case. Formal enforcement action is being taken.
"The council has not rehoused the landowner, or provided assistance with rehousing. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage.”
During the dispute Mr Memory named his property Gunn-Barrell estate.
