CHILDREN from a Hampshire school will see their work displayed to the public as part of an exhibition celebrating the work of extraordinary women.

Five pupils from Harestock Primary School reached the finals of the Winchester Heritage Open Days art and words competition, which will see their work displayed as part of an exhibition in Winchester’s Great Hall.

The competition celebrated both women locally and nationally who have made a difference or brought about change in their communities.

The children created a piece of artwork and a piece of writing celebrating pioneering women.

The extraordinary women chosen by children included family members as well as those they have been inspired by.

The exhibition will be open to the public on September 8-9 and 15-16.
