A NEW gym will open its doors in Winchester city centre next week.

Énergie Fitness will be based in The Brooks Shopping Centre, and today will see a chance for potential new users to view class demonstrations, with nibbles and drinks provided at a launch event on Thursday, July 19, ahead of its official opening next Friday (July 20).

The creation of the new gym at the centre has created around a dozen jobs and will provide state of the art fitness equipment, extensive free-weights, innovative training zones, more than 40 classes a week and a unique personal service to gym-goers.

It will be open between 6am and 10.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 7am to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday.

To support the opening, The Brooks Shopping Centre has collaborated with the gym to launch an online competition with one lucky winner winning eight personal training sessions worth £300, a second-place winner getting four and eight others one free session each.

Lisa Evans, office manager at The Brooks, said: “We are thrilled to be able to welcome Énergie Fitness to our centre. This will make a fantastic addition to our newly refurbished scheme.”

Phil Hall, divisional operations manager at the gym, added: “We are really proud to be included in the redevelopment of The Brooks Shopping Centre in Winchester.”

The launch event next Thursday will take place at the gym between 5pm and 8pm and is open to all.
