A FIRE in a field sent a huge pall of black smoke over a Hampshire motorway.
More than 30 firefighters reponded to over 100 emergency calls following the blaze off Long Walk, Easton, at 1pm yesterday, which broke out on agricultural land near the M3.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) spokesman said the field was "well alight".
One fire appliance from Winchester has been sent to the scene along with two from Eastleigh fire station and one from HFRS headquarters in Eastleigh and other crews, some with off-road vehicles, from Fareham, Lyndhurst, Andover and Basingstoke.
