HE IS the Hampshire dad who could not believe his eyes when he went to a pub with his family to celebrate Father’s Day.
When Neil Wilkie arrived to The Crown Inn in Bishop’s Waltham he was not expecting to find his portrait on the pub sign and his name on top of the menu. In his honour the pub was renamed The Neil and Crown for the day.
Neil beat 3,500 other Hampshire fathers to win the Fuller’s Father’s Day competition My Dad’s Pub.
He was nominated by wife Rachael and their three children who said Neil deserved to win because he works hard for them, makes them laugh and plays football with them.
Neil said: “I’m so pleased about this. I can’t believe I have my face on a pub sign!
“I’m touched that my wife and children entered me into the competition and I’m so glad that I get to enjoy this with them and other members of my family.”
