FAMILY fun days staged at marinas across the south gave parents and their children a chance to take to the water.

One of the events was held at Mercury Yacht Harbour in Satchell Lane, Hamble, where visitors could try their hand at paddle boarding and other activities.

Food and drink outlets included the Ketch Rigger restaurant and the Hop On Inn Bar.

Hamble Sea Scouts, Speedbird Offshore Sailing Club and the Gone Fishing Boat Club were among the organisations that took part in the event, which was followed by open-air cinema in the evening.

Similar fun days were held at Hythe Marina Village and Ocean Village Marina, plus Shamrock Quay and Saxon Wharf.

Activities at the other marinas included face painting, live music, handmade ice creams, displays by the Territorial Army, an RNLI lifejacket clinic, and boat demonstrations.

All four sites are owned by MDL Marinas.
