THROUGH an unassuming door in the shadow of King Alfred’s statue is one of Winchester’s best kept secrets.

Open for just over two years and winners at the 2018 Winchester Business Excellence Awards, ClueCapers offers groups of up to six adults a puzzling time in one of their unique escape rooms.

Escape rooms are physical adventure games that see players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues and hints to escape a locked room.

Later this month the award-winning company will be launching their latest escape room, ‘A Curious Inheritance’, which has been inspired by the city.

ClueCapers’ Kate Surtees said: “There’s a lot of great references to the history, places and people of Winchester in the new room.”

“I would tell you what’s in there but we don’t want to ruin the surprise for players,” she added.

A Curious Inheritance will transport players to ‘the most peculiar of museum galleries’ full of devious puzzles, riddles and mental challenges that the team believe are some of their best yet.

The new room is scheduled to open at the end of the month. though dedicated puzzle fans will be able to come and help with testing the room from this weekend.
