POLICE have launched a hunt for two men after a man was pushed through a shop window in an early-hours attack.

The 19-year-old victim was found bleeding heavily after being attacked outside Fired Earth, next to the King Alfred Statue in The Broadway, Winchester.

The incident took place between 1.30am and 2.07am following an argument in Alfie’s Bar, a few doors further along The Broadway.

A police spokesman said a further altercation took place shortly afterwards by the statue.

The victim was pushed into the shop window of Fired Earth, where the window broke, causing a cut to the head that required stitches, as well as a deep wound to a finger.

The two men are believed to have left in the direction of Eastgate Street, towards Friarsgate. It is thought one of the suspects may have cut himself.

The first suspect has been described as white, aged between 45 and 55 years old, 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in tall and of stocky build. He had very short hair, almost balding and was wearing a grey t-shirt, dark blue jeans and trainers.

The second man was described as white, between 45 and 55 years old, 5ft 11in tall and slim build. He had long, straggly grey hair, and was wearing a lighter coloured short-sleeve shirt, dark trousers and trainers.

The spokesman added that it is possible that the two men were accompanied by a white woman, who is described as being in her late 40s, about 5ft 5in tall and of slim build.

Police are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the attack to call police on 101 quoting reference '44180186392', or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111
