ALL that will be missing is the bride and groom.

Winchester Cathedral will be celebrating the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by live-streaming their wedding ceremony this Saturday.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the ceremony in the Nave from 12noon to 1pm.

The Cathedral clergy will process into the Nave before the wedding begins and guests will be given an Order of Service to follow throughout the ceremony.

Celebrations will then continue until 5pm in the Outer Close with activities for the whole family, including Morris dancing, a bouncy cathedral and pop-up stalls provided by local churches.

There will also be an opportunity to write a prayer for the newly-weds on bunting hung around the Close, whilst prayer stations and spaces for quiet reflection will be available around the cathedral.

Short tours of the Cathedral will be available at 10am, 2pm and 3pm focusing on the history of Royal Weddings at the cathedral, including the those of Henry IV and Queen Mary Tudor.

Visitors are encouraged to join in with the festival atmosphere by bringing a picnic to eat, but street food provided by the Cathedral Refectory will also be available.

The Very Rev Catherine Ogle, Dean of Winchester, said: “464 years since Queen Mary (Tudor) and future King Philip II of Spain married at Winchester Cathedral, we are delighted to be showing the marriage service ‘live’, joining the national celebrations for the royal couple.

“The cathedral has witnessed countless weddings over the years and we hope people will join us in the Nave on Saturday May 19 for a unique opportunity to be part of the wedding service as it takes place and to celebrate this happy occasion.”

“As this is a joyous Christian wedding we are opening up Winchester’s great Cathedral for people to gather together and share the joy of this new beginning and national event in community”.

All tickets for the screening of the Royal Wedding have now been allocated. Entry to Winchester Cathedral will be free throughout the day, with donations welcome.

And - if there is another match on your mind - there is an opportunity to catch the FA Cup Final live on the Guildhall’s big screen in the King Alfred Chamber.

The celebration is being held as part of Thy Kingdom Come, a nine-day event of prayer marking the days between Ascension and Pentecost and many events are being held by churches across the country from May 10-19.
