A CELEBRITY chef is selling his seven-bedroom luxury Hampshire home which is so pricey estate agents haven't even priced it.

James Martin, TV cook and best-selling author, has placed his home at Stoke Charity, near Winchester, on the market.

It's reported that the 45-year-old has lived at the property for nine-years but is now looking to move on.

Mr Martin's links with Winchester started when he was appointed head chef at the newly-opened Hotel du Vin on Southgate Street in 1994.

He later moved in into TV and moved from Winchester to Stoke Charity, it is reported to give him more space tp keep his collection of classic cars.

The home has been placed on website onthemarket.com where it is the only home currently available to buy in the area.

According to the website, the home is an old dairy house and since being taken over by Martin has been extensively redesigned and developed with the help of a local architect and tradesmen.

It says: "The beautiful tiled reception hall sets the tone for this exceptional family home.

Turning right from the reception hall, leads you into the beautiful kitchen/dining/family room, with a wonderful oak floor incorporating underfloor heating. The bespoke handmade kitchen was designed by Jane Cheel (http://www.janecheelfurniture.com/), with fitted electric ovens, gas hob and features Sub-Zero appliances including fitted wine coolers, fridges and freezers. There is an inbuilt deep fat fryer, chopping boards, La Vesse Griaudon rotisserie and a bespoke Wessex Ducting kitchen ventilation system (with external fan minimising any noise in the kitchen). There is a wealth of cupboard storage including cleverly designed larder cupboards. The kitchen has a beautiful oak floor, and is open plan with the family room, where there is a remote control gas fire, and bifold doors out to the gardens.

From the kitchen, a door leads through to a large reception room with doors out to the garden terrace and stairs leading up, past a cloakroom to a mezzanine gallery. This room would easily lend itself to being a fabulous drawing room, or to being a self contained annexe.

"To the left of the reception hall is part of the original house, where 17th century doors, reclaimed from a French Chateau, lead to an inner hallway, past a cloakroom, a staircase to the first floor, through to the living room, where there is an open fire, set into a limestone fireplace, and open-plan with a large glass orangery overlooking the gardens.

From here, doors lead through a glass vestibule, to an oak staircase leading up to bedroom seven which has an ensuite shower room, currently used as an office. This sits over the triple garage (easily convertible to further accommodation), and onto the cinema/games room. The cinema games room has a 3m x 3m remote controlled cinema screen, which when activated, triggers window blinds and mood lighting. There is also a bar with Sub-Zero fridge, and built-in Play-stations and wiring for gaming equipment. There are two staircases leading to the main bedrooms, one from the Inner Hall and also from the kitchen. The first floor has four double bedrooms and three bathrooms. The generous master suite comprises a large dressing room with a wealth of fitted wardrobes and ample space for a sofa/sitting area, a modern contemporary bathroom with freestanding bath, double shower cubicle, oversized basin, and inset television screen. The bedroom itself is very spacious, with further bespoke fitted wardrobes and bi-fold doors leading onto a large balcony, with glass balustrade overlooking the gardens. The guest bedroom has a contemporary ensuite shower room, there are two further double bedrooms on this floor and a fully tiled family bathroom with a freestanding bath, double basin and built in television. Stairs lead up to the second floor, where the accommodation again is extremely versatile. This could easily be a large self contained flat and is currently being split into two distinct areas – firstly a large gymnasium, leading through to a double bedroom; and the other side is beautifully fitted as a kitchen/sitting room, double bedroom and a bathroom."
