AN ANDOVER school has launched a new menu for the coming term to get pupils to enjoy healthy eating.
Anton School youngsters will be able to taste new dishes including healthier options such as a vegetable tagine and falafel wrap.
The school and Hampshire County Council Catering Services has also devised a number of dishes which contain “hidden” fruit and vegetables, including a chocolate oat cookie which contains sultanas and bananas.
But the school council were asked to select one menu item which they were particularly looking forward to and partake in an exclusive meal sampling.
They were given the opportunity to taste tomato bread, barbecue chicken and herby diced potatoes before feedback was given to the catering team which was overwhelming positive.
William Nias, Year 4 pupil and school council member, said: “This is the best school council meeting ever.”
