AN ELDERLY man was rushed to hospital after a crash on a major Hampshire road.
The air ambulance rushed to the scene of the two-vehicle collision on the A272 Petersfield Road near Cheriton.
The 86-year-old had to be cut free from one of the vehicles and was taken to hospital.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said crews from Redbridge, Winchester and Bishop's Waltham attended the scene at around 11.30am.
A second casualty who was not trapped was also treated by paramedics, although the severity of that person's injuries is not yet known.
The road was fully reopened between Beauworth Road and Kilmeston Road nearly five hours later at around 4.15pm.
