2 TAKE to beautiful Beaulieu River on a winter paddle with New Forest Activities. Choose between single seater kayaks or 2/3 seater canoes for a full two-hour guided tour out on the water. 3 HAMPSHIRE Farmers Market will be selling their wares in the Square in Petersfield on Sunday from 10am until 2pm.

4 THIS weekend the Royal Armouries at Fort Nelson will be taking visitors on an immersive tour of the war that never happened.

Presented in association with interpreters from Griffin Historical, ‘1878: The War that Never Was’ will introduce visitors to a parallel version of history in which the French have successfully invaded and troops are nearing Portsmouth.

The event starts at 5.30pm on both evenings, with a tour every half an hour; visitors must pre-book their space on a tour in advance.

5 AFTER a stint in Gosport, an exhibition of original action figures, toys and movie memorabilia from the famous Star Wars franchise is currently on display at the Willis Museum and Salisbury Gallery in Basingstoke.

From X-Wings and tie fighters, to light sabres, Jedi Knights and maybe even a missile firing Boba Fet. May The Toys Be With You features an impressive collection of vintage toys and classic posters from the original movie trilogy, that changed the face of modern cinema. 6 HELEN Mirren stars in supernatural thriller Winchester, which opens at cinemas across Hampshire this weekend.

Based on true events, Sarah Winchester (Mirren) the widow of famed gunsmith William Winchester, suffers from severe grief after the sudden death of her husband and son. She becomes convinced that she is cursed by the ghosts of those who died from at the hands of Winchester firearms. On the advice of a medium, Winchester uses the $20million inheritance from her late husband’s estate to build a labyrinthine mansion in San Jose, California that would come to be known as the Winchester Mystery House – one of the most haunted in the world.

7 HEAD to Comics, Games and Coffee in Winchester on Saturday, to help local board game designer Paul Willis playtest his latest strategic sci fi board game Fortitude of Empires (F.O.E).

Players take on the role of a veteran warrior from one of several warring factions and compete to gain promotion through winning battles, discovering planets and strategically handling unexplained events.The event runs at the comic and board game café at the Brooks from 11am to 3pm and the creator will also be on hand all day.

8 VISIT Winchester’s only pie and comic shop - Piecaramaba!

The quirky eatery situated on Parchment Street, features a selection of 20 different pies, with customers able to leaf through a classic comic, or play a game of Top Trumps while waiting for one of the shops delicious pies. The shop recently featured in the guardian and was given a glowing review from celebrity food critic Jay Rayner who described it as a “Bloody good pie shop!” describing their produce as “wonders of golden shortcrust”. 10THE global phenomenon Circus of Horrors returns to Southampton tomorrow, Friday February 2.

After taking to the road over 22 years ago and touring all over the world, the troupe returns with its latest brand new incarnation Voodoo.

Dr Haze, the undead ringmaster and the creator of the Circus of Horrors, is joined on stage by the likes of ex tax inspector Hannibal Hellmuerto who is now a Guinness World Record-holding sword swallower and his wife Anastasia IV, a hair hanging beauty.
