CONCERNS are growing about anti-social behaviour at Arlebury Park, the town council reports.

The police have been dealing with an increase in incidents, including seven of nuisance linked to the area.

The town council are liaising with them to come up with measures to counter the problem, such as locking gates to restrict access. In the long-term CCTV may be considered.

Another idea is to engage with the young, including possibly a graffiti workshop with professionals, to decorate the area and encourage teenagers to take pride in the skate park.

Meanwhile the council is trialling a six week night-time closure of the public car park at Arlebury Park.

Special arrangements have been made with local residents who have overnight parking licences.

the council will be speaking to the city council who have the car park on a long lease.
