3 CLIMB Southampton’s iconic clock tower and discover its fascinating history, while enjoying the fantastic views!

A tour of the clock tower will be taking place on Saturday, January 6.

Participants must be over 12 years old, be physically fit, and should wear sensible shoes.

It will start at 10.30am and lasts around an hour.

Tickets cost £6, or £5.50 for concessions and can be pre-booked by calling 02380 834536 or by visiting the reception desk at Tudor House and Garden, SeaCity Museum or the City Art Gallery.

4 WINCHESTER’S popular Christmas ice rink will be open for its final weekend this festive period.

With its clear roof, skaters are guaranteed a rain-free experience whatever the weather.

Based in the grounds of Winchester Cathedral, it is one of the highlights of Winchester’s Christmas offer. In 2016 the ice rink attracted an unprecedented 56,000 skaters.

A standard ticket for the ice rink – which includes an hour’s skating and skate hire – is £11.50, with numerous concessions and packages available, including parent and toddler sessions.

Game Plan: Board Games Rediscovered celebrates the joy, excitement and occasional frustration of playing board games. This exhibition includes more than 100 objects, featuring some of the most iconic, enthralling and visually striking games from the V&A’s national collection. Visitors can get ‘hands-on’ throughout the exhibition, learn about different kinds of games and discover what sort of player they are.

6 LOOKING to get that New Year’s resolution to get fit off to a good start?

The Southampton Park Run returns on Saturday, January 6.

The 5km run starts a 9am on Southampton Common and it costs nothing to take part.

However, first-time runners must register beforehand at www.parkrun.org.uk/register and bring your barcode along to the event.

8 AFTER hitting the headlines in November when the decision was taken to remove Kevin Spacey from its cast, All The Money In The World will be shown in Hampshire cinemas from tomorrow.

Set in Rome in 1973 and starring Mark Wahlberg, the film tells the real-life story of a mother’s desperate bid to free kidnapped 16-year-old John Paul Getty III.

However, she must convince his billionaire grandfather to pay a ransom.

The film is rated certificate 15.

9 WITH Star Wars - The Last Jedi hitting cinemas last month, now is the perfect time to relive the classic films with exhibition of movie memorabilia from the famous franchise.

From X-Wings to light sabres, May The Toys Be With You will have a collection of vintage toys and classic posters to see at the The Gallery in Gosport on Friday and Saturday.

10 ROMSEY Farmers’ Market returns on Sunday, January 7, with more than 30 producers expected.

Located on the River Test, Romsey is one of Hampshire’s most historic market towns with a charter granted by King Henry I allowing a market to be held every Sunday. The market takes place in the Alma Road car park with stallholders selling meat, eggs, cheese, cakes, wine, cider, bread, honey, jams and pickles, fresh and smoked fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, plants and shrubs.

The event provides plenty of tasting opportunities and chances to meet and chat with local producers.
