A VINTAGE buses took to the streets of Winchester on New Year’s Day.
Friends of King Alfred Buses (FoKAB) brought out three vehicles for their Micro Running Day - a smaller operation preceding their main Running Day held in May which will include around 10 buses.
Founded in 1985, the heritage charity aims to preserve the memory of R Chisnell & Sons, trading as King Alfred Motor Services.
The volunteers preserve the 14 known remaining vehicles which operated between 1920 and 1973.
The buses on New Year’s Day offered free rides to visitors from The Broadway and there was also a vintage bus service to and from Southampton to mark the 50th anniversary of Hants and Dorset Bristol Lodekka 1577 coming into service.
