TV PRESENTER Piers Morgan was left red-faced after the Christmas lights switch-on in Hampshire, of which he had the honours of pressing the button, failed to go to plan.
The Good Morning Britain (GMB) presenter and former Daily Mirror editor was in Stockbridge for the big Christmas event, where hundreds of residents had gather to see him light up the streets.
Following the countdown, Piers pressed the plunger which should have seen the festive season get under way and instead Stockbridge was left in darkness.

Morgan later posted the video on Twitter, adding: “Do NOT show this to @susannareid100 [his GMB co-host] or I am dead on Monday morning.”
A number of people took to the social media website to make fun of Morgan, with one person tweeting: “Even the lights don’t like you.”
Another said: “You had one job.”
The Christmas lights switch-on was held at St Peter’s Church in Stockbridge on Friday, December 1.
