WINCHESTER Guildhall and Cabinet Rooms will co-host the city’s first coffee festival tomorrow.

The festival features two events at the Guildhall - Winchester’s Biggest Co?ee morning and The Festival of Co?ee.

The coffee morning from 10.30am-2pm, will feature many of Winchester’s independent coffee houses bringing their best brews and cakes. Participating businesses will donate a portion of their takings to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Entertainment will be provided by 1940s three part harmony vocal group The Spit?re Sisters and visitors will also be able to enter their own bakes into Winchester’s ?rst city-wide “Bake O?”, organised by multi-award-winning cake artist and baking writer Sarah Sibley.

Entrance to the Coffee Morning costs £2.50 with all proceeds going to Macmillan.

Meanwhile, The Festival of Coffee runs from 6-10.30pm with co?ee cocktails from Cabinet Rooms and liquors from Dorset’s Conker Spirit. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Super Kat, who recently played Twyford’s popular Graze Festival.

“Since launching our events back in 2015, we’ve been keen to organise a fundraising event for this cause,” said co-founder of Cabinet Rooms, Gary Whiter. “With 2.5 million people in the UK living with the cancer, it’s something that a?ects nearly everybody either directly or indirectly. We have long admired the work done by Macmillan Cancer Support who provide medical, emotional and ?nancial support for those who face cancer.”

, and their loved ones, so it’s a real privilege to be able to work with the charity and the Guildhall team to raise vital funds for this important cause.”

Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager for South West Hampshire, Ryan Howarth said: “Sadly the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan’s support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever.   “At Macmillan, we know how cancer can a?ect everything. We’re here to help people live life, no matter what, but we can’t do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us. Donations received from this event will go towards helping Macmillan support people a?ected by cancer at the time they need us most.”

Winchester’s favourite independent businesses are pulling together to make this event a success, including Flat White’s, Moonroast, the Cornerhouse, Chococo, Killed by Co?ee and many more.
