FORMER TV journalist Richard Vaughan has been fined for speeding near Winchester.
Vaughan, 70, was clocked in a 14-reg Volvo doing 51 miles per hour in a 30-zone on the B3047 at Itchen Abbas on May 15, Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
He was a regular face on BBC South Today in the 1980s and 90s, working as a reporter and presenter alongside Bruce Parker and Debbie Thrower.
Vaughan, also a writer and director, of Avington Park, near Alresford, was fined £700 with a £70 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Six penalty points were added to his licence.
