WINCHESTER’S Fulflood Gallery is holding an exhibition of work by the artist Michelle Buhl-Nielsen.

Michelle is an artist and art tutor living in Winchester. Her latest exhibition of work, titled 'The Charcoal Series', is to be shown at the Fulflood Gallery, Stockbridge Road, from now until July 29.

She made Denmark her home for 17 years, living also in Zimbabwe and South Africa during that time, and has exhibited in Africa, Denmark and England, and framed prints of her original paintings which have been sold throughout the UK, as well as internationally.

The human form, portraiture and wildlife are recurring motifs in her work, all of which feature in her latest exhibition.

Michelle says that “the process of producing art enriches lives, bringing about wellbeing and confidence as well as the opportunity to learn about ourselves and our world”.

Since returning to Winchester in 2003, Michelle has worked on many National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) funded art projects with local community groups such as the Winchester and District Young Carers, and many multi-sensory art projects for special needs schools in Winchester. She currently tutors courses in life drawing and portraiture.

The gallery opened in October last year and it showcases the work of artists local to the area. For more information see the website www.fulfloodgalleryandframing.co.uk.
