DESPITE the threat of rain the St Mary’s Church and Village Fete – which is understood to have been running for more than 100 years – welcomed around 600 visitors at the green in King’s Worthy.
With candy floss, tug-of-war, bric-a-brac stalls and plenty to keep visitors of all ages entertained, organisers had the extra bonus of a special display designed to bring people into the church as well.
A total of 24 wedding dresses were on show for all to see, donated for the occasion by brides from the village and beyond.
And organisers of the exhibition – Sue Cook and Diana Gower – had a range of dresses, with shoes and accessories dating from between 1922 and 2016.
