TICKETS have gone on sale for the annual major fireworks display in Winchester.

It will be the 58th annual event organised by the Round Table on Saturday November 5.

The event starts with a torchlight procession from the guildhall around the city to North Walls park.

Matt Robinson, bonfire chairman, said: "This is an important event that brings together the people of Winchester, with all donations and proceeds from ticket sales going directly to charities in our local community.

"As we sold out last year, we have introduced early bird tickets to encourage you to buy your tickets online or from our outlets early to avoid disappointment.”

Tickets can be bought online at www.winchesterbonfire.co.uk or from a number of city retailers:

• Winchester Tourist Information;

• Winchester Discovery Centre;

• University of Winchester Students Union;

• Mucky Duck, Hyde Street;

• Jeremy France Jewellers, High Street;

• Rapport Hair, Stockbridge Road;

• Gieves & Hawkes, The Square.

Early bird tickets cost just £3 and will be on sale until midnight Sunday October 30.

The standard £5 tickets go on sale from Monday October 31 up until the event.

Any tickets remaining will be sold on the night at the standard price of £5 per ticket, and will be available from a number of different locations on the route of the annual city Torchlit procession.

Members of Winchester Round Table will be selling tickets at the Saturday and Sunday Markets on the High Street on October 29-30, as well as Friday November 4 and Saturday November 5.

Programmes for the event will also be dropped through the doors of Winchester homes throughout the month of October.

For the first time this year, there will be a Premium Tent on site. Tickets are priced at £50 and will guarantee shelter along with a great view of the bonfire and fireworks.

Included in the price of the ticket is finger food supplied by a Michelin starred chef and an open bar stocked with soft drinks, local ales and excellent wine.
