POLICE have named the man who died in a crash on the A303 earlier this week.
The crash involved a lorry and a rubbish truck on Monday, which resulted in the A303 being shut for several hours.
Police have now named David Weeks, 57, of Maple Close in Shaftesbury as the driver who died in the collision.
As reported he was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died that night.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.
In particular they would like to hear from the driver of a tractor they believe was driving on the carriageway shortly before the crash. Police think he may be an important witnesses.
The crash happened at around 11.55am by the turning for Overton and Micheldever station.
