IT WAS the biggest turnout they had ever had.

Organisers of the third Kings Worthy Family Fun Day said they could not believe so many people had attended the event.

Hundreds of visitors took part in different activities, including face painting, football challenges and an RAF assault course.

Children were thrilled to find not just one, but two bouncy castles and an inflatable slide!

There was also a barbecue manned by the local Scout group.

Hampshire Chronicle:

Special guests in attendance included the Mayor of Winchester Cllr Jane Rutter and MP for Winchester Steve Brine.

The day was held to raise money for Kings Worthy Pre-School.

Jo Parker, manager at the charity-run school, said: “It was a really great day and everyone enjoyed themselves.

“All the stalls were aimed at the children so parents did not have to spend a fortune.

“We wanted to make it a great day that was as cheap as possible.”

The cash will also go to funding the school’s annual trip to Finkley Down Farm.

Jo added: “The trip has always been special because it is the first time some of our children have visited a farm. Some have never been on a coach before either and this just adds to the enjoyment and excitement!”

A date for next year’s event has yet to be decided.
