Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery is urging everyone to make sure they are registered to vote in next month’s EU referendum. Teenagers who have turned 18 since the April 18 registration deadline for the recent local elections, or anyone who has moved will have to register by June 7 to be able to vote in the poll to decide whether the UK stays or leaves the European Union. “I would like to remain in the EU but regardless of whether people agree with me or not, it’s vitally important that everyone casts their vote and to do so and they must be registered like in any other election,” said Mr Hollingbery. “This referendum is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for the country to have its say on Europe, and I hope that people will make sure they are registered so they can go into the polling booth and give their verdict.”
