TROLLEY ladies from Winchester Hospital British Red Cross have bought new kit for needy children.
They presented six children’s wheelchairs and two pairs of leg extensions to the Red Cross Mobility Aids department.
The chairs were bought with more than £1,200 raised by the ladies. They supply essential items to patients at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital from their trollies.
The trolley manager Jean Lee, who has been keeping patients supplied for 17 years, chose to support the wheelchair service when she heard that children’s chairs were in short supply.
The Red Cross Mobility Aids department in Hampshire loans out 20per cent of all the Red Cross chairs across the UK and provides a lifeline for temporarily immobile members of the community.
Volunteer Sue Clements said: “As an ex-nurse who trained at the RHCH, it’s nice to be able to give something back, as well as having a chat and cheering up the patients.”
