A BANK in Winchester High Street has closed due to flooding after heavy rain battered the city.
Lloyds Bank shut yesterday after a deluge on the High Street and other parts of the city, with manholes overflowing and localised flooding in some areas.
Floor tiles and waste water have been removed from the branch floor after a roof leak.
The roof is currently being fixed while workers check electrics. It is hoped the bank will reopen tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Hinton Ampner House, a stately home off the A272 at Bramdean, requested sandbags because its cellar was flooding.
