A HAMPSHIRE carer and an Alresford charity have joined forces to make a daughter’s wish come true, Michael Carr writes.

Bluebird Care arranged a memorable trip for Suzanne Foyle, who hadn’t seen her sick father, Leonard, in ten months.

Suzanne’s carer, Sally Chapman, and the Alresford Pigs charity managed to reunite them in London.

Mr Foyle, 93, has suffered several falls in recent months. He is bound to his house in Ickenham, north west London, limiting contact with his daughter to daily phone calls.

Suzanne, 68, suffers from visual impairment rheumatoid arthritis. She has built a strong relationship with Ms Chapman, who has been her carer for the past year.

Mrs Chapman noticed how distressed Ms Foyle had become about not being able to see her father.

Suzanne contacted Alresford Pigs to see if they could fund the trip.

She and Mrs Chapman travelled to Ickenham on the train from Winchester to spend the day at her father’s house.

Also joining them was Mrs Foyle's aunt, Pam, who she had not seen for more than three years.

Bluebird Care's owner and director, Claire Murphy, said: “It’s extremely rewarding to provide care to our customers that improves their way of life and emotional needs. Our Bluebird Carers really are the best and are trained to deliver care above and beyond a list of duties on a care plan.”
