WINCHESTER City made it a staggering 19 goals scored in four league games with a 6-1 home win over Marlow tonight.

The loss of holidaying top scorer Warren Bentley proved no handicap for the Citizens who led 4-0 at half-time through Adam ‘Taz’ Roberts, Zach Glasspool (2) and George Short.

Rob Flooks bagged a fifth before Marlow pulled one back, but the last word went to defender Adam Tomasso who brought up the half dozen with a header.

It places Winchester third in the Southern One South & West table, two points behind leaders North Leigh and Taunton who have each won their first four games.

News was not so good for AFC Totton, who are still searching for their first win.

They came away empty-handed from Larkhall Athletic after conceding twice in quick succession to the Larks’ Darren Jefferies (4 mins) and Ollie Price (8 mins).

Steve Hollick's Stags are fourth to bottom of the South & West table with just one point from four games.

Sholing were the night’s big winners in the Sydenhams Premier Division, seeing off Newport IoW 4-1 at a soggy Silverlake Arena.

All the goals arrived in the second half with Marvin McLean, Kev Brewster and Barry Mason forging a 3-0 lead.

Ryan Thomas pulled one back for the Islanders in the 78th minute, leaving Daniel Mason to crown Sholing’s first league win of the season.

Brockenhurst also registered their first league victory, beating Team Solent 2-0 at Grigg Lane thanks to a Ryan Long double in the 50th and 58th minutes.

The match between AFC Fawley and Hamworthy United was postponed.
