FIREFIGHTERS were called to a Winchester school on Sunday after a disposable barbecue set fire to a hedge.
Hot ashes are thought to have been dumped after a barbecue in the grounds of Kings' School, lighting the bottom of the hedge. Firefighters described it as a small incident.
Watch manager Kevin Robson said: "It looks like somebody had emptied a barbecue in the bottom of the hedge, probably thinking it was all out and cold, but it wasn't."
The fire brigade was called just before 2pm and the fire was put out safely.
