SUPERMARKET staff have raised over £1,000 for a local charity as part of its annual scheme.
Sainsbury's employees raised £1,100 for Street Reach - a charity which supports young people - for their Local Charity of the Year.
The charity was selected by customers and staff last June.
Ben Martin, project manager, said: “We’d like to thank the customers and colleagues at Sainsbury’s in Winchester for their support over the past year. It has made such a difference to Street Reach.
"We’re extremely grateful for the donations which have helped our projects for young people and for the sponsored bibs for our Friday Football project.
"Raising awareness of Street Reach through the partnership has enabled us to reach out to more vulnerable and disadvantaged young people and build upon our success in delivering detached youth work across the Winchester district."
Until June 28, customers have the chance to vote for the next charity which have been shortlisted as the Blue Apple Theatre Company, Age UK and Parkinson's - all based in Winchester.
