WINCHESTER City Council has won an award for its positive atmosphere and professionalism.
Local authority staff won the Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Award after a recent review.
The external assessor said managers had become “more proactive in supporting the needs of their teams and individuals.”
The inspector added: “The whole atmosphere within the Council appeared to be very positive. There is a general culture of ‘making things happen’. The general view of staff is that Winchester City Council is a great place to work.”
Chief executive Simon Eden said: “Staff are a local authority’s most important resource. This award shows that, in spite of budget and other challenges, we are on the right track.”
