A HAMPSHIRE charity has invited schools and scout groups to take part in a county-wide fundraiser.

Children are being asked to take part in the Penny Games, which takes place in October, and will see as many pennies and two-penny pieces handed in to help Wessex Cancer Trust.

There will be more than 15 prizes on offer to the winners, and pupils will also have the chance to enter an inter-schools competition where they can play against their friends.

Hampshire Chronicle:

Rachel Rawlings, fundraising officer for Wessex Cancer Trust, said: “We’re hoping to get as many schools involved as possible. It’s a great opportunity for a bit of friendly competition, as well as there being a number of fantastic prizes available from companies such as Adidas Table Tennis, Bishop Sports and Leisure, and a huge number of school workshop days on offer.

“We want to use this fun appeal to work with schools, educating children about the causes of cancer and how they can lead healthy lifestyles. We’d love to hear from all that would like to get involved.”
