MARIE Curie volunteers have been treated to a special thank you cream tea for their fundraising activities.
Sarah Gulider from Bay Leaves Larder in Hiltingbury Road, Chandler’s Ford, paid tribute to her fundraising friends who helped with this year’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
Over £53,000 was raised which will help provide more free care to people living with a terminal illness.
Kate Wall, from Brockenhurst, made a cake to alert people to the next campaign in June.
The Blooming Great Tea Party, promoted by community fundraisers Wendy Savage and Sally Sansom, will see people try to beat last year’s fundraising record.
Ms Savage said: “Why not get your friends together and join others taking place across the country this June 20-29? Last year across the UK the Blooming Great Tea Party for Marie Curie raised £667,000 which pays for 33,350 hours of vital nursing care.”
