CREATIVE ways to boost community engagement on a Winchester estate are being sought at a workshop on Friday.
The Stand Up for Stanmore conference will hear speeches from Sarah Bird, chief executive of community charity Timebanking UK, and Ian Wilkey of Food Up Front, which aims to strengthen neighbourhoods through culinary projects.
Rachel Aron, chairman of Stanmore Community Association, said: “We are looking for imaginative ways to engage the community here and improve the economic and education figures, which rank low compared to the rest of Winchester.”
The free event runs from 9.30am-2pm at Stanmore Community Centre, Somers Close. For more information call 07719 482228.
