SCHOOL children in Winchester have been showcasing their latest technology to a prospective Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP.

On the last day before the dissolution of Parliament, Steve Brine visited children at Twyford St Mary’s Primary School using their new interactive classroom boards.

The touchscreen smart boards have been fitted in five of the school’s classes.

Bruce Greig, chair of governors, said: “We’re delighted to be investing in the technology of the future in our school to help our children realise their full potential.”

The 2014 SATs results saw Twyford St Mary’s School celebrate another strong year of academic achievement.

It was ranked second in Hampshire and in the top two per cent of schools nationwide placing them 44th out of over 16,000 schools.

Louise Chapman, head teacher, said: “This is a wonderful achievement. We are very proud of all our hard working pupils and our excellent staff who have enabled these excellent results to happen.”
