SYDENHAMS Premier basement boys Totton & Eling have their fingers tightly crossed that Jo Tessem is available for the Easter Monday showdown against Fawley AFC.

After plundering a first-half hat-trick in Tuesday’s 3-0 win against Bournemouth Poppies, the 43-year-old ex-Saints utility man is away this weekend, ruling him out of tomorrow’s trip to Whitchurch United.

But with the Millers needing goals like never before to keep them in the Wessex top flight, chairman/co-manager Andy Tipp is hoping the big Norwegian will be ready to roll back the years once more when the Oilers visit on Monday (3pm).

T&E have only five games left to save themselves and, despite Tuesday’s victory, the size of the task confronting them has not changed.

Second-to-bottom Fareham also won on Tuesday, edging Blackfield & Langley 1-0 at Cams Alders, while 19th-placed Christchurch pulled a massive win out of the bag on Wednesday, coming back from behind to sink Andover Town 5-1.

Michael Dixon put Andover into a first minute lead at Christchurch before the hosts hit back in style.

Andover ended with ten men after Claudio Herbert was dismissed late on.

Like T&E, Priory have turned to some tried and trusted former players to help dig them out of a hole. Jon Grace is back from New Milton, Marc Fairbrother from Bournemouth Poppies and Dan Taylor from Bournemouth Electric.

Fareham travel to Newport IoW tomorrow, while Christchurch entertain an in-form Bemerton Heath Harlequins side managed by their former boss Graham Kemp.

With 35 games played, T&E remain bottom with 21 points, Fareham have 23 and Christchurch 24.

As an Easter present to their fans, Sydenhams Premier promotion hopefuls Winchester City are offering special admission rates for Monday’s home derby with Alresford Town (3pm).

All children under-16 and concessions will get in free and there is a reduced price of £5 for adults.
