A HAMPSHIRE charity has received a welcome cash injection from Winchester’s hairdresser to the stars, Guy Kremer.

Mr Kremer presented a cheque for £460 on behalf of his client Julia Morgan to The Haven breast cancer charity’s chief executive, Pam Healy.

The celebrity hairdresser has also added more than £650, which was raised through donations in the salon.

He said he was delighted with the amount raised.

“Julia held a tea party at her home and I provided goody bags for the ladies who attended,” he said.

“That raised £460, and, on the same day, we asked our clients to give donations for tea, coffee and cake in the salon, which raised a further £640.

“It was a lovely effort by all our clients for a very worthy cause.”

Cancer support centre The Haven in Wessex has reached a major fundraising milestone after raising £2m, and will open the doors of No35 The Square in Titchfield this autumn.

The Haven’s capital appeal manager, Lucy Cowie, said: “Guy has been a wonderful support to our charity from the beginning – both he and his clients have been so generous. We are very grateful to have him on our team.

“We are just half a million away from our target. There is still work to do, but the people of Hampshire and Wessex are amazing people who have done the most amazing things.”
