A DRIVER was seriously injured when his car smashed into a wall in a village near Winchester last night.
Firefighters had to free the trapped male driver after his car hit a wall of a driveway on Hazeley Road, Twyford, at around 8.40pm.
Watch manager David Bowen today said firefighters had to cut away the windscreen and part of the roof after the Vauxhall Corsa flipped on its side and onto the roof.
An ambulance took the victim, believed to have been around 30 years old, to Southampton General Hospital with chest and leg injuries.
WM Bowen, of Winchester Fire Station, said today: “He appeared to have serious injuries.”
