DUAL-SIGNED Eastleigh young gun Tony Lee made a one-off return to Lymington Town on Saturday and struck twice in a 3-1 home win over Christchurch.

Lee had featured for the Linnets earlier in the season, netting four goals in six Wessex appearances before being recalled to the Spitfires ranks.

But with James Davis suspended and Manny Soetan still injured, Lymo boss John Pyatt put out an SOS call to his Eastleigh counterpart Richard Hill who was happy to help.

“I spoke to Richard and said we were struggling for a centre-forward so he let me have Tony for a one-off game,” Pyatt explained.

“He’s raw, but he’s a good, young lad learning his trade and he could have had a hat-trick before half-time.”

Lymington went ahead through a Warren Kenna penalty before Lee bagged the first of his brace.

Priory replied, prompting Pyatt to take off the attack-minded Declan McCarthy and throw on defender Dan Fairhurst to protect the lead.

“Fair play to Christchurch. They pulled one back and the longer the game went on, the more I could see them nicking something,” said Pyatt.

“I took an attacker off and threw another defender on to shore things up and Tony scored his second goal towards the end.”

While Christchurch – home to Fareham Town tomorrow (Wednesday) - remain rooted second-to-bottom of the Sydenhams Premier, eighth-placed Lymington are on a roll of four wins and a draw from their last five league games.

“We’ve got some great lads with a great work ethic. They’re a pleasure to work with,” said Pyatt.
