TEAM Solent reeled off their tenth straight league win on Saturday to stay three points clear of chasing Amesbury Town in the Sydenhams One title fight.

James Taylor’s men completed a season’s double over rock-bottom Andover New Street at Test Park thanks to first-half goals from Sam Byles and Jim Orvis.

“Things have gone really well recently,” said interim boss Taylor.

“New Street played exceptionally well on Saturday, they hit the crossbar and didn’t look like a bottom-of-the-table team.

“But we had plenty of chances in the second half and might have hoped for a few more goals.

“The lads are looking good and it doesn’t seem as if there are any weak links.

“Hopefully we can keep it going.”

The one setback is that Malachi Brissett, a powerful presence in central midfield, is out until the new year.

“I’m not sure what the problem is, but he woke up struggling to walk on Friday morning, he’s had an operation and can’t play again until after Christmas,” said Taylor.
