HAMPSHIRE and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust has unveiled a research lab that will allow them to improve their scientific research and evidence gathering.

The purpose-built facility, at the trust’s headquarters in Curdridge, will be fitted out with new equipment including both stereo and compound microscopes which mean the team can carry out species identification.

The opportunity for more detailed monitoring will allow the trust to conserve habitats better.

It is also hoped that the new lab will draw in more funding for the trust, by monitoring conservation work of other organisations.
