CAROLLERS will stand around Winchester’s Christmas tree this Saturday (Dec 6) to entertain shoppers and raise money for the Mayor’s charities.
The event at the Buttercross starts at 11am and the songsters, including city councillors, will encourage passers-by to donate to charity.
The Mayor, Cllr Eileen Berry, will lead a team from the Blue Applers and the 1st Winchester Scout group.
Over the following two hours students from Henry Beaufort School, The Tudor Roses Ladies Barbershop Harmony Chorus, Winchester Music Club will also take part.
The mayor’s fund raising continues on January 9 when teams of ten will compete in Winchester’s 6th Big Quiz in the Guildhall at 7pm.
Tickets (at £6 per person) are now on sale at the Guildhall Tourist Information Office.
