A CRIMINOLOGY lecturer will be giving would-be criminals a run for their money in a special murder mystery evening.

On November 28, retired police commander Paul Sticker hosts an event at Winchester Discovery Centre to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of an actress in 1947 in aid of Age UK Winchester.

Mr Sticker will follow the last known movements of the woman, who disappeared from a ship from Cape Town bound for Southampton, and explore the account of the first-class deck steward who was tried for her murder having allegedly thrown her overboard.

The presentation runs for approximately an hour-and-a-half and includes information believed to have been previously unknown.

Tickets cost £10 and can be bought in advance by visiting jumblebee.co.uk/bodyoverboard or can be bought on the door.

The evening starts at 7pm and there will be a licensed bar open until the event starts.
