HISTORIC changes to social care and volunteering are on the agenda at a Winchester action group summit this month.
Two senior Hampshire County Council officers will address Winchester Area Community Action’s annual general meeting on November 25.
Kate Jones, policy manager of adult services, will discuss the Care Act, Britain’s first overhaul of social care law in more than 60 years, and its impact on the county.
Then Paul Archer, director of policy and governance, will provide an overview of the council’s priorities for 2015-18 and how the voluntary sector can contribute to social need as local government funding is cut.
The AGM runs from 2pm to 4pm in St Peter’s Church, Jewry Street.
