POLICE were called to two villages near Winchester following 11 burglaries in several hours.

Thieves took golf clubs, gardening equipment and power tools from sheds and garages in Cheriton and Kings Worthy.

It happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning (September 24).

Sgt Mark Lamper, of Alresford Police, said he thinks an organised gang from elsewhere were responsible.

The first call came in at around 4am after a disturbance in Cheriton – where nine of the incidents took place.
